Love People

It is our job and our passion to meet those needs in the name of Christ. As a community, we strive to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. We will love until it hurts, and through small things done with great love we will change the city.  Below are some of the organizations with which we partner.

The Father's Heart Ministries

Over the past three years we have developed a significant relationship with The Father’s Heart Ministries, a 501(C)3 located in Alphabet City that is dedicated to expressing God’s love in tangible ways through practical expressions of compassion.  We regularly volunteer with their Saturday morning soup kitchen and food pantry, as well as some of their other programs.  If you are interested in getting more involved with the Father’s Heart, we are currently training some people from Forefront to lead specific areas on Saturday mornings. Bowery Mission

Each year we collect coats, clothing, socks and underwear, and other essentials to benefit the Bowery Mission. Located on Bowery just below Houston Street, their goal is to be the most effective provider of compassionate care and life transformation for hurting people in NYC.  We have also volunteered with their clothing room and feeding ministry, and will soon be participating in Don’t Walk By, and citywide effort to get people off the streets and into a rehabilitation program.  For more information on the Bowery Mission, visit: www.bowery.org.

New York Cares

Each Spring and Fall we join thousands of New Yorkers for a massive day of service organized by New York Cares.  In the Fall we paint, clean, and beautify NYC public schools.  In the Spring we work outside to revitalize parks, gardens, and other public spaces.  Both events are great opportunities for our Church to join with larger volunteer efforts in the city, and serve with other good people who may have a not-so-good view of the church. Our ongoing goal as a church is to be a community that has a real and lasting impact on New York City. This is a snapshot of who we are and some of the things we are doing to show the love of Christ to “the least of these” brothers and sisters of ours.
